10 years ago Ireland was flying in the skies, hotel room accommodation was expensive but not any more.
According to the latest report on Irish hotels. Ireland is the cheapest Western European country for hotel accommodation.
Because of overcapacity there has been a drop in average room rates.
These fell from €57 in 2000 to €38 in 2008. The hotel rates have since fallen by a further 26% in 2009. This can only be good news to travellers going to Ireland.
The hotel rates in Ireland are fallaing due to overcapacity, reduced demand and undercutting from competition.
